Macromedia Goodies

September 25th, 2004

Thank you Macromedia for the very nice gift! :) The Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger bag is great and my laptop fits perfectly :) … and it came just on time, as if MM knew that i have school starting in a week and was looking for a nice bag to carry my laptop around :D Thank you also for the nice “Go to And Play” tshirt, the UI flash cards and the personaly signed letter from Mike Chambers.

The Fedex box arrived on Wednesday (unfortunatelly i had to pay 60 euros of taxes), but i wasn’t able to open it and see what’s inside till this Friday (i was away).

I would also like to thank Christian Cantrell for sending me the letter about Central 1.5 release.

I am not sure what i did to turn up on Macromedia “gift list” (this is not the first time i recieve a gift from MM) but i feel happy and honoured and glad :) Thank you again!

    Hey klaut, Your layout is perfectly fine in Firefox but in IE, the footer is super-imposed on the entries! Please check that!

    IE (Inconvenient Experience)? Wasn’t the latest version (non security-fix-wise) of this browser released.. like… 4 years ago? Isn’t it obsolete already? 4 years ago I didn’t care how my sites looked in old versions of Netscape. Now I feel the same about IE. Klaut, don’t bother heh ;)

    IE doen’t want to behave , i know …
    i have a css rule for body to be 100% in min-height (and a workaround for IE not understanding min-height) and the footer position: absolute with bottom 0. and it won’t work, grunt.
    well, if you scroll the page down, till the end and then do a refresh, IE puts the footer at the bottom correctly, though :|
    i had it planned to correct the IE behaviour (and probably omit the absolute bottom positioning of the footer alltoghether) but partly because of lack of time and mostly because my default browser is Firefox, i always seem to forget about it ….

    Jonas: :))) .. yeah, i think it is my subconsious that keeps me from remembering to correct the IE display.. ‘cos deep down inside me i think the same as you ;)

    Jonas, you are trying to leave common people behind, I would not be wrong to say that most common websites gets 65+ hits from IE.
    And Klaut, I took the liberty of checking your style and did a quick fix, it is now working on IE 5.01, IE 5.5, IE 6.0, Opera and Firefox.
